Would people recommend HeathLambert who are detailed on the Diabetes UK website?

Never heard of them.
Best thing if you want insurence is to shop around.

It seems they are a broker................does that not mean they will search insurers for you, for a charge............?

I am with the AA, not really required and specialized insurer..........

Nope, brokers search insurance companies and get paid a commission. I've never had to pay for the service. Although often a broker will be slightly more then going to the same insurer directly.

Currently I'm with Liverpool Victoria.

I've heard the Diabetes UK, like most diabetes specific things, charge a bit of a premium.

I just search around myself. I've found with car insurance, as with travel insurance, that any that say they are aimed at people with diabetes are usually much more expensive!

I'd say stick to what you used to do!

Im with REAS its for the over 50 and a lot cheaper so depends how old you are. Got home insurance with them aswell and get a discount for having both. The last time I got it I looked around and got one cheaper on lone but when I rand REAS I got my renule at a lower price than was sent at first because I said I could get it cheaper from someone else so stayed with them thought they were very good

I have to wait a decade and a bit for that I think :D

Unfortunately diabetes uk car insurance is really expensive for me! I was quoted nearly ?1000 last time I checked (2 years ago) and am now with direct line for about ?400

I insure with Cornish Mutual and pay ?93/yr

oh. my. god!!!

How do you manage that?? I want some of what you're having! 😉
I wonder what insurance group that is 🙂

I'm not sure where the age related discounts hit in an insurance premium - mine have always gone either up or stayed the same for the past few years. The exception seems to be this year where it looks like it might go down.

I'm paying ?300 - ?350 for a 2 year old Fiesta! (and no that's only a 1.4)

No claims bonus and the county I live in 🙂

yeah I pay about ?300 a year....29 years old, 9 years no claims, 1.9 diesel

insurance used to go down each year, but hasn't in the past 4 or 5 years :(

Found reasonable price car insurance though Environmental Transport Association as I didn't want to use, nor give referral fee to, a recovery company, that promotes car / motor vehicle use over other forms of transport. I only use my car when bike / bus / train / getting a lift etc are not possible. Paid ?235 last year.

Well Copepod - how do you know? - I mean the likes of Aviva, Royal, Lloyd's Syndicates for instance insure thousands of buses and trains as well as planes cars motorbikes ships tractors and push bikes.

(And we were talking insurance, not recovery!)
