Hi,

Just looking for some help re the carb info on the packet of Warburtons white Danish bread
at the top it says
Typical values Per average slice (25.8g)
then lower down
Carbohydrate 11.8g
so is it 25.8g of carbs in 1 slice or 11.8g?

According to WeightWatchers (http://www.weightlossresources.co.u...ry-products/Warburtons-White-Danish-Bread.htm)
a slice weighs 25g and the carb content is 11.7. As it is white bread this is equivalent to eating 12g sugar in one go - not a good idea.

The 25.8g in brackets is the slice weight, so what it is saying is 'Typical values Per average slice (which weighs 25.8g)' You will find this method of telling you the makeup of a product quite common.

More than likely it is 11.7g a slice, it would have to be like a doorstop to be 25.8g:D

My Aldi Multigrain bread is 50g per slice. The Carb Bible says that Warburtons White Danish is 25.8g per slice and 46% carb. Sounds about right to me.

50g a slice is a lot for the Aldi Multigrain😱 I would have thought that would be carbs for a 100g weight:confused: unless a slice does weight that:confused: now I'm confused:(

Woops, it was actually Aldi White Batch loaf and yes it says approx 50g per slice, I weighed a frozen slice and it was 45g.

Don't know where you are getting your facts from. Thick White sliced is not the same as the White batch and I was reading off the pack itself.
My point was that 12g carb for white Danish sounds about right, the danish loaves are smaller than standard sliced loaf sizes. Also White bread should be avoided if possible.

Mmmm, all the info is usually there, but different bread packets display it in different places - hence me mixing up me kilojoules with me kcals recently!
