Wow! Brilliant results :D Keep up the good work and give yourself a pat on the back, and maybe a treat dare I say?!

sighs! i thought they were ok but just wanted to check wasnt sure if that 3.5 was low.what is normal agian for a non diabetic i mean, and should i expect those results to stay about the same.A treat would be great but frigtned incase i wont stop best to just stay as i am,saying that i have been letting myself have 3 pieces of dark chocolate now and then.
Thanks eveybody
What would i do without you?
Jayne

Brilliant results Jayne, keep at it, what your doing is obviously working for you.🙂

I take it you have another appointment for the nurse, ensure you get all that the NHS has to offer.🙂

Jayne those are tremendous results well done :D

Wow, Lady J, you've clearly got iron self-control, and it's fantastic that your numbers have dropped so fast. Do you think part of your success is going for it so completely, or are you tempted to think "I could have a little more nice stuff, and still get respectable 5s"?

Personally, I'm a bit more slow-but-sure (well, fairly sure 😉) and in more than a month of monitoring have only seen one reading below 6! 😱

i dunno bout iron control ,i,m not really tempted to have a little more stuff,
i,m still very naughty cant stop smoking but i know i would fail to diet and pack in so i put the priority of weight first.
i must say after the last few unlucky (health wise) years its a real big deal to have to face diabetes aswell and it scares me more than the cancer did/does .i only got my free monitor yesterday with only a few strips so want to use them wisely and couldnt believe my eyes at the 3.5 havnt checked anymore today but gonna chek morning again and maybe after tea.hope you have better look with your readings and thanks for the support they mean more than you could no.

Smoking for a diabetic is probably the single worst thing you could do. I understand that the risks are multiplied several-fold. If I were you I'd start reducing how much you smoke with a view to stopping entirely.

I know it won't be easy, but you will be doing yourself a favour on atleast two fronts. One being your health and, two, your pocket (it is an unbelievable waste of money! Since I gave up, ten years ago, I have saved atleast ?15,000!!).

Good luck,

Andy 🙂

These are brilliant results but please do not smoke. Smoking really is the worse thing that you can do with regard to diabetes. I know that if I smoke I will lose loads of weight (smoked for six months before when I was in my 20s) but fortunately realised that the smoking was too much of a risk.
A massive well done on your BG results

As a lapsed ex smoker I'm with you here. If you try to do too many things at once it's too hard. Sometimes. And I'm having a sometime. Unfortunately my sometime is caused by a family member who being 20+ years younger isn't going to go away in my lifetime. At times I've been able to say Up yours - I'm gonna do this for myself amyway, you can't touch me. I can't at the mo.

But anyway, you could make it your New Years resolution. In fact I think that's a B good plan for me.

Want to join me?

Yep i,m with you. i,m getting to grips with the food, having my 2 3 bits of dark choccy as my treat and also bought some sulasweets for the sweet tooth cravings.so feel after 5 weeks of dieting i could start to think about the smoke issue.whats weird is when i got diagnosed with cancer i smoked more,
i know i have to stop, i know the benefits of packing in .i have only ever tried once to stop and lasted 2 weeks and thats with having a cpl of sneeky ones.
saying that i have made a decision to stop and will be seeing the dnurse on the 12th dec and i am gonna ask for her help and support.not keen on new year resolutions though they are made to be broken.and when i set my mind to something maybe i will have iron will.whoknows! all i can do is try,and try i will.
Jayne x:D
