But. I just had another call from the surgery. There was some confusion last week about whether they should have called me in for an HbA in the first place, i.e., am I being seen by them or by the clinic. Well the nurse just phoned to say they shouldn't have called me in and I should wait for the clinic to write with an appointment and then get the whole thing done again!

The air around here is blue and if we allowed profanity the language of this post would be blue too.

ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!

What a farce! Surely they could use the result they have now for whatever they have planned, unless it's too early for the clinic? Hope you get a better result next time around, that would at least be some compensation for being mucked around! 🙄

I get my HbA done at the GP's for the DSN at the hospital. I just go in and make an appointment with the nurse.

Surely they begrudge sharing the result. TBH, if they've got the result, then I would imagine they can't withold it from you. Might be worth asking.

omg Amanda...I'd be fuming too!! what is it with drs surgeries and HBA1c results????

Did they run the tests already? If they have I'd agree with Robster that surely they'd be obliged to tell you the results.

Good luck!

Oops. Sorry Alison. At least you'll get to see how it changes over short time spans.🙂

If they can't get it right as professionals, how do they expect us to?

Just to clarify. I had a latter a few weeks ago before I went on holiday to come to the surgery for my bloods (which were due to bge done). I made the appointment and when there the nurse asked if I was still being seen at the clinic and I wasn't sure as they said nothing about my next apointment last time I was there, so she said she'd find out. The on Monday I had a call from the Dr formerly known as Idiot (she's finally redeemed herself a bit) l to tell me the results weren't great and I should phone the DSN to seek advice on what to do. Quickly followed by a call from the nurse I'd seen the week before telling me I AM meant to be seen at the clinic and should therefore ignore the tests I just had and wait for them to contact me when I'd need to have it all done again.

While all this is happening there's also a big debate about whether I should be having the flu jab and since I can't have that because of the egg allergy, should I have the Baxter's one (no eggs). The answer to that conundrum appears to be yes.

Are you as confused as I am?
