Hi Sally,

When you feel the tiredness do you test your levels and if so what are they like?,have you got any stress going on lately?, sorry I dont remember how long you have been diagnosed, sometimes the body reacts and the new meds may just be making it do that,it could be the body getting used to the met etc etc..If you have not already take a look at the pacient information leaflet that came with the metformin

Hi Sal,

Sorry I was not aware you did not test, have you thought of getting a meter ?

Stress can cause alot of feelings or tiredness not only are you on the new meds but your work is giving you grief, have you thought of seeing your doctor to discuss these feelings of tiredness.he/she may want to dabble with your dose and see if that helps.

Ive got an appointment 2moz will have a chat with him...

I think i will get a meter the doc didnt seem keen not sure why.

are you on tabs?

Gizmogirl - tiredness could be caused by so many things, not just medication. Stress is a definite possibility. So, definitely best to speak with your doctor tomorrow.
Your HbA1c is pretty good, so it's unlikely that you were getting many incidents of hyperglycaemia (high blood sugar) in the 2 - 3 months before the blood was taken. Hyperglycaemia is another cause of tiredness.

Hiya,

Will deffo have a chat with him I could sleep for England at the mo lol

Hi Sally, I would have a word with your GP as there are lots of other conditions that can cause tiredness, such a thyroid, anaemia and metformin can sometimes cause a lack of the vitamin B12 in the body (my father suffered from this and there were times he could hardly get his head off the pillow)... I would ask the GP for further blood tests and would mention the vitamin B12 one as I know it gets missed and is sometimes not routinely asked for.

Good luck

meter

Hi I spent a week looking into meters, my Dr did not want to give me one--- a friend gave me a spare freestyle something or another but I did an internet search and found meeters on line for 3.00 but 50m strips seem to vary to about 35 i think
