I want to an Accu-Chek Multiclix Lancet Device Kit - the only place I have been able to find one is on Amazon and they are ?53. Does anyone know anywhere where they might be cheaper. As a needle phobe I am finding the lancet device that came with the BG monitor (free from the drs) is quite painful!!!!

Would be grateful for any help

Thanks
Andy

Hi andy, welcome to the forum 🙂

?53?? Surely not! Have you tried calling Accu Chek customer support? Might be worth getting a meter from Accu chek for around ?10-15 and you get a multiclix with it. You might even be able to blag a free one from them if you tell them you wish to use their strips, which is where the profit lies. I use a multiclix and find them to be excellent finger prickers.

What sort of meter do you have?

Have you tryed Boots like Northey said try ringing accu chek and blagging one.Good luck

I've got a nano (I like it after a couple of months use) which I blagged from their customer careline. Like you, I was mainly after the multiclix, which is very good and I also managed to get a box of 200 lancets on prescription, which should last me a couple of years at least !:D

As a T2, you may struggle to get one for free, but worth a try. I actually tried to blag a Xpert but was told no way, so they offered me the nano as a consolation prize. 🙂

I'm still on my first box after 3 and a bit years! 🙂

The race is on !! :D

(I also blagged the IR interface and 360 software 🙄)

I've just checked, and it's the Fastclix lancet device with the Nano. An updated version of the multiclix.

Pretty sure it uses the same lancet drums - my original meter was an an aviva and I use the same lancets in the device for my nano. So not quite sure what the difference is other than a branding (unless they've changed it somehow in the past couple of years)

i believe that the fastclick has slightly different lancets, i think the drum is smaller and they are deff a different colour!!

I would give the Roche a phone as they are normally more than happy to send out a free meter with the exception of the Xpert but that one is ?80 worth of kit lol, but the meter for the combo pump is ?120 but I actually blag a free one well I didn't pay for it, not sure if my clinic or roche did though! when I upgraded my pump..

Not sure if and what differnces between the multi-click and the flexiclick is, can but knowing Roche won't be much in it, and both lancets drums will be available on prescription.. So doesn't really matter if it's the first device you'll getting

Before i got my accu-chek combo pump, I was given an expert meter (probably to practice on) as it is almost the same as the combo meter I got with my pump 🙂 .......I still use my One Touch finger pricker....got used to it! 🙂
