Well, I did quite a bit of gardening yesterday, and as usual it proved difficult to make the necessary adjustments to stop me from dropping low. My readings for the day were 6.4 (waking), 3.8, 4.6, 3.2, 3.7, 3.2, 4.4, 3.8, 5.2. I don't normally test that often, but obviously needed to know how bad the hypos were in order to treat them properly. Interestingly, I did a 3am test as well as I was worried I might drop low in the night, but I was 5.2 and then woke to 5.0 this morning - so stayed pretty much rock steady overnight!

As you can see, there is still quite a way to go with the garden! I should point out that I have a large garden and this is just the back 20% of it - the rest of it is quite nice! 🙂

Wow you have been working hard. Perhaps you need a treat, a glass of full fat coke or something along those lines, or does it make matters worse?

Can't stand the stuff! 🙂 My jelly baby stocks are starting to run low though! 😱

Gardening is strange I agree - I only have to mow two lawns and I am heading for hypo land!!

Looks like you haven't far to go with the garden Alan!🙂

Must be nearly time to get some more then.

Is it just coke, or all fizzy drinks you can't stand?

Got to admit I cant stand normal coke now but something like Pepsi Max is pretty good 🙂

Never been a fan of fizzy drinks, except when I was little and the pop lorry came round - I used to like dandelion and burdock and American cream soda 🙂

There's a lot to do really - I should have taken a picture before I started! I'm trying to get things ready so I can plant some bulbs and get things ready for a nice winter/spring display 🙂 Hoping to start a vegetable garden too. Rain stopped play today!

Wow Alan you have been a busy boy, surprisinlgy on 2 occasions i have felt weird after hoovering

LOL - it always does this to me - nothing to do with hypos tho':D

Know how you feel Northe, about to dig over hen pen in preparation for woodchip topping and know I wil have to watch out for hypos. Not a fizzy drink fan myself, especially when it has artificial sweeteners. Good luck with the planting plan and veg plot.

Looks like you've made brilliant progress with the parts of the garden that you've finished. I love September and planting bulbs - as well as the ones in the ground I filll about 20 tubs each year ready for them to come out at different times in the Spring. It's great having a vegetable garden......but I'm not too successful because I don't like doing anything horrible to the slugs.
Know what you mean about hypos with gardening......it always seems to be do gardening, have lucozade, do more gardening have more lucozade etc - but at least it proves that gardening is good exercise:D

Hi runner! 🙂 Hope things go well with the hen pen - who knows, that might be my next project! 🙂

Most of the garden just needs maintenance, but the back (which is basically out of sight from the house!) got really bad. I was in my neigbour's garden recently and the same part of her garden is really lovely so I decided I should make better use of the space. Interesting fact: I know the word for 'slug' in 18 languages :D

I have a serious hoovering problem, hypo every time! Thankfully I have a brilliant OH who doesn't mind doing it :D Brilliant garden btw, a lot of hard work but it will be worth it in the end, my parents recently did theirs and it looks great now, lots of birds and butterflies 🙂

Slightly off topic but did you know that a slug is an imperial unit of mass? A slug has a mass of 14.5939 kg. Wouldn't want to come across one that size 😱

Too much information about slugs - I'm now going to be dreaming about them tonight. I did used to be nice to them and give them lovely bowls of lager to drink from in the evenings.......but then I started feeling guilty about this so my poor courgette plants are suffering instead😡
