wow my sugars have dropped dramatically, yes I am pretty strict with myself diet wise[not on any meds] but all my readings are in the 5's now and i've even just done a 4.9 the lowest ever! can you dip in and out of being diabetic or is this just a good patch and because i'm being so good??? i must admit i feel a bit of a fraud now.....or am i clutching at straws...or even just plain stupid!!!!!!!!😱

Sounds like all the hard work is paying off, you are getting brilliant results! Unfortunately I don't think you can stop being diabetic but with those readings you can give yourself a pat on the back!! Don't feel like a fraud, you can pass on your knowledge to the rest of us :D

Well done! I'm afraid you are not cured, but this shows that you have learned how to manage your diabetes very well. 🙂 I suspect if you began eating the wrong things then your levels would increase again, so don't even think about it! 😉

I find myself in a similar position and regard myself as being very lucky that in a short time I have gained so much control over BG through careful diet choice and modest increased exercise. However my understanding is that we will always be diabetic because our natural mechanism for controlling the use of blood sugar is permanently impaired. So I think a life of vigilance is vital to stay healthy and I suspect that lapses would cause BG to be elevated again I wont be taking any chances :(

IMHO once your diagnosed your diabetic then thats it, unless in very rare instances,so dont spend all your time trying to figure out if your not or trying to get out of it just concentrate on controlling your diabetes and keeping as well and healthy as you can.

The way to see it is that you're cured in all but name, as long as you do what you're doing. But the symptoms may well reappear if it degenerates and you start all over again with the possibility of meds. But then they'll cure you for a while until your body gets bored with being normal and plays up again. And so it goes on.🙂

I'm basically cured for a few hours every day as long as I remember to inject and don't eat too many nice things. :D

The bad news is once you have the dreaded D it will never go away. The good news is you have briilant control shown in those wonderful numbers.

Excellent Control
