She said my food diary was very healthy. The only suggestion was to increase the starchy carbs. My BMI is 26 Near the border of healthy (bearing in mind it was post lunch and clothed)
She suggests to have the fruit fresh rather than dried as the sugars are more concentrated in dried. She said it was ok to have a couple or three on occasions..
I told her I had made a muesli yesterday of 2 tablespoons of porridge oats, 3 dried apricots, 3 dried dates and 2 brazil nuts, 5 almonds, a couple of hazel nuts and soya mlk. She said that was fine.
She said (looking at my log book) my BG's may stay high even if I lose a few more pounds and that I will probably need medication. I said I plan to go down to 9 stone and she said see how the BG's are then. As losing the weight will certainly help bring them down .
She said if I have something sweet, ie cake. it was better to have it with the main meal as it will take longer to get into the cells.
