Measured my blood pressure just now and it was 122/77, with pulse of 47! Perfect! :D

Fantastic Alan! What do you think has brought it down?

Wish I could get my blood pressure lower. Last check was 151/73. But better than 3 years ago in hospital when I was 230/135.

I had a reading of 80/40 when a Dr took the reading.
He nearly fainted from shock. I just said oh that's good isn't it?
I didn't like to tell him it was a lot lower earlier on in the day.
Was in the middle of an addison's crisis, so got blue lighted to the hospital 😱

Your pulse is amazingly slow.

Blood pressure looking good - hope it continues that way.

Lucky sod. That's better than mine. Last time I did mine at work it was 148/80 and a heart rate of 85.

No "white coat effect" to influence your readings, eh ecky-thump-boy :D
Good on ya.

Well done you :D I have the white coat syndrome to a certain extent they always have to retake my blood pressure because it's high when I first get it done and then it's fine when I've sat down and talked to them for a little bit.

A good reading there 🙂 ! What monitor do you have? I check mine in work - there is a machine that weighs, does BP, body fat etc but I am not sure how accurate it is, and was thinking of buying my own machine. If the one in work is accurate my BP has finally come down really well. I did buy a wrist one last year but ended up taking it back as it was rubbish.

The wrist ones are rubbish - I had one and it was never anywhere near what the doctor's meter said. I got one of these:

Omron MX2 Digital Automatic Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor

It's 'clinically validated' and approved by the British Hypertension Society, and I also noticed that it's the same brand (but more basic model) as the one my GP uses. I'm happy that it's accurate and think it's worthwhile getting one so you are less prone to the 'white coat hypertension' and possibly consequent increases in medication. My GP was going to increase my meds but when I showed her my home results she was happy to leave me as I was.

WOW - that's fantastic Alan. Well done you

Lairy x

Thanks for that Alan - I can't believe the price of that on Amazon, so much cheaper than the ones I was looking at in Boots yesterday. I am going to order one right away!

I think I saw the same one in my local Boots a while ago and it was ?99.99! Even the rubbish wrist one I bought about 5 years ago was ?40. I'm really pleased with mine, especially now it's giving me the right numbers! You can also claim the VAT back, although I didn't bother as it's a bit of a palaver at amazon. I can probably dig out the details for anyone who wants to know though. 🙂

wow that's fantastic mega well done Northener:D:D:D

Thanks AJ, it's a whole lot better than the 168/95 I was getting a few weeks ago! I'm going to give it a couple of weeks and if it's consistent or lower I'm going to book an appointment with the GP to see if she will reduce my meds. At my annual review the consultant said he didn't have the slightest worry about my BG levels, but was quite worried about my BP, so if I keep this up he will have nothing to worry about! I'm hoping that this will also help me get through my eye appointment towards the end of the month (must check date) 🙂

Alan - when did the pig appear?
