Good afternoon peeps x

Well, thought I need a bit of support etc at the moment and resue my membership.. 😛

Officially diagnosed nearly 10 years ago; misdiagnosed as Type 2 due to being overweight - but on metformin and a long acting insulin... then moved and put on Novomix 30... 7 years later at a different hospital

LADA was confirmed... and it has been a rollercoaster I'd rather get off... 😡 proliferative retinopathy (waiting on hba1c to settle before treating :-( )
Now on Humalog and Levemir; been on DAFNE (with a bit of success; but still struggling) and feeling very disgruntled with the service.

Besides the diabetes; I am a shiatsu trainee with varied interests and would love to chat about non-D bits too x

Thanks

Hi Catareta, welcome back! 🙂 Very sorry to hear of your dreadful journey to something like a reasonable regime and finally some education with DAFNE. It's no wonder that you are feeling disgruntled, it must have had a very detrimental effect on your quality of life over the years :( Hopefully, you will be able to put that behind you now and move forward with happier times.

You will see that our community has grown quite a bit since you originally joined so we have even more people here with lots of experience to share and to listen and support you, so please do take advantage! I look forward to hearing more from you and whatever you need to know we'll try and help. Or you can let off steam and have a bit of fun too, there's always plenty of that going on! :D

Thanks for messages guys xx

Welcome Back, you were actually here before me but welcome none the less....🙂

Hope to see more of you....:D

Hi and welcome (back).
Sorry to hear of your struggles with diagnosis and appropriate treatment - hope you manage to make sense of it all soon 🙂

Don't be too hard on yourself, I bet you're very good at it!
.
OMG - that was going to be my response too - aaaarrrghhh - does this make me a "Andy HB2"; or perhaps a "HBa" .... "HbA1" .... you know where I'm going with this, don't you 😱
