Thanks Toby.

I've got to see my GP on Fri cos my recent cholesterol test read at 7.4 even though i'm on one 40mg statin so i'm guessing she's going to increase my dose and i reckon i'll be put on meds for BP too as i'm on borderline high :( oh i wish there was a magic pill to put everything right.... sigh!

I think I would recheck those results Lucy. I've never seen an HDL quite that high before. It may well be that they are the other way round ie LDL 3.8 and HDL 1.6 this would be a more normal pattern. Don't worry about VLDL/IDL, these are reflected by your triglyceride result which is normal.

Well Fruitloaf - you were certainly on the ball🙂
Rang surgery again today and results were actually the other way round so back to the drawing board folks:

LDL 3.8
HDL 1.6
Total cholesterol 6

Apologies to you all but I definitely wrote the results down yesterday as read to me!
So folks what does this mean - am I still good?:D
