Type 2
I fancy something sweet, I have looked in my cuboard and i have some pop tarts ..... as i havent been diagnosed as type one or two ... could i have ONE pop tart .....

If not

What can i have as something sweet ... Getting fed up with apples!!!

How much carbohydrate in 1 POP TART?

As a type 1 I would need insulin for this...................

But as I said earlier, I believe you must be type 2 or else you would be in hospital.......

If you really want it, have it................maybe you could do some excercies after it............🙂

Im half way through it lmao too late now.... If im ill im ill 😛 Hubby comes home soon so i will just go to bed if im ill lol sleep it off :D

If your type 2, it will be difficult to resist temptation, you may as well take advantage of your long wait, which might I stress again is ridiculous...

to be honest i intend to now - im just going to eat what i want until told otherwise, weather it contains sugar or anything else. im just eating if i want it ... no one has told me any different so *shrugs* i cant be that bad can i ... i will just cope with the symptoms if i get them :D

**eyes up my hubbies bar of galaxy chocolate with cookie chunks!!!**

I don't really agree with this, I think that you should try and resist as much as you can. The problem with diabetes is that you may feel slightly better initially for having the 'treat', but it will make you feel really horrible later - especially since you currently don't have any real idea of how to control your blood sugar levels, or even what they are.

Try and distract yourself and stay away from the sweet stuff for now. You can eat unsalted nuts, or maybe get some sugar-free jelly mixes - I find they take my craving away and don't impact my blood sugar levels. Also, start your food diary if you haven't done already!

I just told you different! Really, you will make yourself feel very ill and as long as you are not properly diagnosed you may do yourself some serious damage - particularly if it turns out you are type 1 or LADA (slow onset type 1)

That's OK - our posts passed each other! I know it is tempting to give in, but you won't be able to enjoy playing with your baby if you are feeling rotten :( How about getting some diet Coke - that's fine! 🙂

It is diet coka HORAH!!!! I can drink this large pint of diet coke nom nom nom ..... lol im in a really wierd mood i all of a sudden feel very very very happy lol i wonder why 😉

Good grief Onyx, what an appalling situation to be in! I'd be camping on their doorstep. I begin to think I was lucky getting carted off to hospital the way I did, at least I got some sort of diagnosis quickly, even if it was the wrong one. You can do yourself a huge favour while you wait though by making some dietary changes now. Swap the full fat fizzies for diet versions. Everyone has their preferences but I stick mostly to diet Irn-Bru because it's the only one that doesn't really taste like a diet drink and answers my craving for sweet things. You could try some kind of berries, like blueberries (I love those) instead of apples, they don't seem to send my numbers up. I've learned from other's experiences and my own that it's trial and error when it comes to foodstuffs, we all seem to have our triggers and they're all different. Don't worry too much if you do fall off the wagon occasionally,we all do, just try not to do it too often.

I really hope you get your diagnosis soon.
