However, I did used to work with people some of whom had diabetes many years ago and remember injecting some of them with insulin. What have you been told/learned about diabetes so far? Sadly there is a lot of misinformation out there so it is helpful to know if you are starting off with sound advice or inaccurate information. That way we can help you find an appropriate course of action to push your levels back under the diabetes threshold.

Do you have much/any weight to lose?
Can I also recommend this link for a low carbohydrate approach based on no more than 130g carbohydrates per day and picks up some of the theories of those mentioned. There is good information, some do's and don'ts as well as menu plans to suit various tastes. It is a very doable regime and there is still plenty you can eat. If you don't need to lose weight then making sure you replace the reduction in carbs with protein and healthy fats.Thank you for welcoming me. In answer to your question, I don't have much fat to lose at all. My BMI is very good and I will have to take it very steady. I will have a look at the learning zone.

Where you are there is no need to panic but you certainly need to make some dietary changes, I started off with an HbA1C of 50mmol/mol but reduced it down to 42 in 3 months by following the principals of the Freshwell program
