Evening all,

Normally, I can feel when I am low and pretty much not a problem. However, tonight was a new one, readings have been good all day, injected this evening as normal, walked the dog as normal, got in l, no warning, no nothing everything went upside down and felt really unwell. Checked and got a reading back of 2.9 mmol/l. Am alright now but lowest I've ever been and, concerned that I didn't even feel it coming on.

Am T2 on humulin, mounjaro, metformin and a selection of other tablets.

Good that you are OK now, people do seem to have been getting odd things happening probably due to the hot weather meaning people can become dehydrated fairly quickly without realising and that can cause unexpected highs or lows.

I don’t know how often you test @Meady but it might be worth doing a few extra tests so you can see if your sugars are heading lower than normal. It could well be the heat. I’ve had a few weird sugars this week too, mainly being lower than expected after a meal, which has meant I’ve had to have extra carbs.

Hi @Meady
One thing I noticed from your post your on Mounjaro, have you recently increased the MJ dose
also the warmer weather as have suggested it could be down to the warmer weather, do you have a Libra ?

Hi, I normally test 3 times a day before meals, breakfast is OK, tea time OK, it was 6.3 today. If I'm going to go hypo, it's normally lunchtime, but that was fine today as well. However, I have woken up it the night Ince at 2 am with a hypo as well

Hi @goodybags am currently on 5ml on the mounjaro which I've been on for about 2 months now. It has been really helpful for me as it has helped with more consistent readings. Nope, don't have a Libra. Could be the weather, who knows.

What type of Humulin do you take @Meady and how often? I’d test more than three times, eg you could test before taking the dog out, and before bed.
It's a kwikpen with a medium release. 3 times a day is my typical which is generally OK for me I do step it up where jecessary. I think I was just taken aback as I had no warning it was coming.

Ok I asked regarding your MJ dose, because as I hope they made you aware
as you increase the dose of MJ you will most likely need to reduce the insulin

It might be worth mentioning to your DSN (or GP) of the sudden hypo you experienced
as they might agree to get CGM on prescription

Which Humulin is it? - kwikpens can be used for all the Humulins - is it Humulin I, Humulin S, or Humulin M3? They all have different profiles

Kwikpen is the brand of pen, but what’s the full name of the Humulin @Meady Humulin i, Humulin M3, Humulin R? Those are all very different insulins, although they share the name Humulin. I’m presuming that it’s Humulin R? If so, are you carb counting with it?

No worries. They did talk about insulin reduction may be necessary when going on mounjaro. Will discuss this with the diabetes nurse at my next planned visit unless it keeps happening, I'll make on sooner.

Nope, I'm on Humulin I. Not carb counting but trying to keep relatively low carb.

@Meady glad you're okay! Alongside the great input from everyone else here, I'm finding this heat is making it a little trickier to spot hypos as I'm already drained and sweating throughout the day anyway. Hope you're feeling okay today and that this was a one-off!
