Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have been taking the above combination since November and am struggling to loose weight. My HB1C is down to 50, but the weight is not coming off, has anyone else had this problem.

How are you doing diet wise? The tablets don’t make you maintain weight or gain weight they just mean that your body can store any extra calories you eat.

Sorry miss typed should have said I am taking Mounjaro, Metformin and Glicazide. The Mounjaro injection is supposed to dampen appetite so that you loose weight, but one of the side effects of Glicazide is increased appetite and weight gain, so I think they even each other out that’s why I am not loosing weight. I am type 2

How is your diet going? Are you eating less calories than you’d need to maintain your weight? None of these drugs to the work for you, you need to diet alongside them

I am eating less calories but I think you will find that the Mounjaro injection is supposed to help you loose weight as well as control your diabetes, a friend of mine has only been on the same injection for three months and has lost two stone, the only thing different in our medication is Glicazide and one of the well known side effects of this drug is weight gain and an increase in appetite

The way it does this is mainly through you reducing your food intake though

Thank you for your help and yes I am eating much less, but as per my original question I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem when on the same medication as me.

You only really have three options to get your weight down: reduce food intake more, change the types of food you’re eating, or exercise more to use more calories.
