Hermione deals with illness well

We are away for a few days with plans to walk parts of the SW Coastal Path. We are slowly making progress and filling in sections that have Ben missed or are too far for a day trip. We did two good days of walking in perfect walking weather, then ….
I had had some dodgy mussels in the local pub and soon suffered the consequences. When I have been ill before I have found that I have had to come out of looping, just when I don’t want to have the additional thinking to do. I decided to stay in Smartguard (looping with 780) to see what would happen. One alert in the night, as I was at max delivery for 7 hours so she wanted a BG (wondering whether I need to up my max basal?) She was happy with that and she has gone on to make all her (pink and blue) adjustments. Sat at around 8 all day and still 90% TIR, AND I have had loads of sleep without interruption. So far so good and definitely on the mend.

Two good days of walking
A big ‘pat on the pump’ for Hermione
Plans for another visit already made
NO MUSSELS ever again.

Brilliant to hear @SB2015 and glad you are on the mend. Hurrah for Hermione.

Urgh to holiday seafood. I had a similar run-in with prawns in Cornwall, when I was in my 20s and it was probably 20 years before I felt able to risk another go!

Seems to be the instinctive duration after that sort of gastric upheaval.

I’m never sure I’ll quite fully trust seafood again. There’s always a nagging hint of doubt… But sometimes it is SO lovely!

I was once faced with a delicious seafood stew (about 20years after the mussel incident) in a hotel in Italy, the night before we’d booked an early bus to Florence and planned a long day. The dilemma! I risked it in the end, and was fine.

I had dodgy prawns in Andalusia about 20 years ago. But it hasn’t stopped me eating them since. Seafood (including fish) is very common for me on holiday (unless I am in a country where I need to be more careful like India) as fresh fish is often silly expensive on our little island.

Glad you and Hermione had some good weather and walking before the dodgy mussels. I must confess, when I started to read your message I thought you had a typo and your “muscles” were suffering from the walking.

That was brave Robin. Still feeling wiped out and stomach still complaining.
I am not sure I will ever eat another

They were complaining too, and I think that they were pleased that we did not go on to do the third day of walking.
