Im looking for participants for a short, online, completely anonymous survey. If you are aged over 18 and have both Type 2 Diabetes and Binge Eating Disorder, I would like to invite you to take part in my Dissertation project for my Health Psychology Master’s degree. The topic of the study is to explore how well policy is meeting the unique needs of individuals with Type 2 diabetes and Binge Eating Disorder. If you feel this topic may cause psychological harm, then please do not participate in this study. If you would like to take part, please click the online questionnaire link below. The questionnaire should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete and will ask you for a maximum 300-word response. Simply click the link below to participate!

Thanks @lbustudentemaxwell

I’ve just put your QR Code on its own line so that it displays better on mobile screens 🙂

Feel free to ask me any questions regarding the research 🙂
it's great that you research this topic because of all the shaming involved in a t2 diagnosis, and the misconception that everyone can just control what they eat, carbs or cal, and go into remission xx

Thank you 🙂 this is exactly why I’m passionate about the topic, hopefully my research will prompt a more holistic and understanding healthcare environment to acknowledge this misconception 🙂

Please also feel free to share this post with anyone who you feel may be able to also fill out this survey 🙂

Just bumping this thread in case people may have missed it earlier. The researcher has messaged the forum and is grateful for people who have responded already 🙂

Ah yes - I think I must have a bit of PTSD - if one can just have a bit - the number of times I was accused of all sorts of negative things because I did not lose weight eating a high carb low fat diet - I can't stand on scales, can't have a verbal interview on weightloss - but I have never been a binge eater, was always told I should be stick thin if my reporting was truthful.
If I cut right down on food my core temperature drops, heartrate slows, even breathing reduces. Returning to normal eating results in an expanding waistline, so I have to reset lower after a diet. Same thing for 50 years - but I'm always the one who's wrong.

I'm so grateful for the responses I've had so far. This topic is one very close to me, I'm also applying for a Phd into improving quality of care after type 2 diabetes diagnosis, specifically for individuals with eating disorders. If this is something that interests you I would love to chat and possibly invite you to collaborate in some PPIE for the project (Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement). Its important to me to get to hear about your experiences so my research does justice and is impactful 🙂 My email is e.maxwell2897@student.leedsbeckett.ac.uk
