Hi
Last bloods 7 months ago was 4 and told high LDL cholesterol given statins told to change diet wasn’t overly overweight was like 12.13 I’m now 11.6 and losing .. now waiting on more bloods very fatigued certain foods either make me feel hungry or put me to sleep ..
I guess I assumed if weight loss then my numbers would lower but I’m now thinking maybe higher than 4

So my Hb was 4.1

HbA1C? 4.1 is around 21 in the modern HbA1C units - so way below diabetes or pre-diabetes and in the normal range.

I see from your earlier posts, there was some concern you weren’t eating enough @Debzx ? If you’re limiting your diet a lot, then you could have vitamin and/or mineral deficiencies that are making you feel tired.

Yes your probably right .. they diagnosed heart disease my numbers are good atm though
I’m on iron & Vit D

A Vitamin D deficiency can make you feel tired. I had low Vit D some years ago and felt a lot better on the tablets. Obviously if you have low iron that can have an effect too, making people feel weak and a bit short of breath as well as generally tired. Hopefully these supplements will do the trick.

I don’t know much about heart disease, but I hope that now you’ve had a diagnosis, they can recommend things that will help.

Thanks ! I’m having my bloods done again in 2 weeks so hopefully the numbers will be a lot better & put my mind at rest .. possibly age too ! One minute I was 50 the next 60 just crept up on me

Hi @Debzx and welcome to the forum. Can I follow up on the posts by @Inka? If an HbA1c of 4 was 4% - the way it used to be measured - then this equates to 20 mmol/mol using the current way of measuring it. Either way, this is so far below normal that I suggest you go back to your surgery and check to make sure you have been given the correct number. To be sure, ask for the units - is it a percentage or mmol/mol.

When it comes to taking stock and working out a plan I think the numbers are a very good place to start. It is worth a double check to make sure you are stating from the right position.
