Milk chocolate v dark chocolate

I love CDM fruit and nut is the best, I also buy Cadburys tiffin bars you can only get them online its Irish cadburys just like it used to be, its expensive but well worth it, Not a fan of dark chocolate I find it to bitter, Also like Lindt bars and the champagne truffles are to die for.I am lucky that chocolate does not cause me to spike so I don't restrict myself, having said that I do eat less than I did before being diagnosed.

I had only recently realised pistachio and chocolate was a thing. I bought my sister some pistachios in chocolate from M and S to go with her Easter Egg. I've seen they also do almonds in dark chocolate. Although I like almond and prefer plain chocolate I think l would chose the pistachio in milk chocolate because i love pistachio. It is £3.50. I see they now do a big daddy bar which is more expensive and includes a layer of gooey chocolate. It is obviously a take on the dubai chocolate. However I am not tempted. However I will definitely try the pistachios in chocolate.

I still prefer milk chocolate but dark chocolate 80% is better for you so the scientist say, I think its because you cant eat too much of it :D

i also prefer milk chocolate but it takes much more milk chocolate to satisfy the same craving.

i can get through a full 180/200g bar of dairy milk but some decent good quality dark 80%+ chocolate, 1 or 2 cubes is enough. frozen raspberries, coconut yogurt and grated dark chocolate is a great after dinner treat

When Cadbury brought out Old Jamaica, alongside of it they also brought out another bar the same size, but instead of rum flavoured raisins (wouldn't be actual rum since Cadbury's ethos being Quaker was strictly alcohol free, never any establishment that sold it ever allowed on BVT land) this one was full of candied peel. I loved it but was obviously one of the few since it disappeared donkey's ages ago - can't even remember what it was called, now.

No way could I ever face another Caramac, having seriously overdosed on them in the couple of months before I was diagnosed with T1. Stood to reason why once I had been diagnosed - whole body craving glucose ......

I remember Tiffin bars!

White chocolate is simply disgusting as far as my tastebuds are concerned, yuk yuk and thrice yuk. I also loathe icing of any sort, which I never imagined could happen. Worst is fondant icing. Eldest daughter who is a classically trained chef knew instantly so the first grandchild's birthday party I went to when little one was upset when I was still wondering how to not eat any but not upset tiny, she instantly told her that of course grandma would enjoy some cake but because she'd eaten so much already, and was far too full to enjoy it right now, she was taking her slice home with her to eat later once she'd got a bit more room.

Now - it's the grandchildren's children's cakes! - and it's always blooming lovely cake underneath the icing. Which curiously always falls straight into our bin!
But white chocolate has one major advantage. When our kids were small, we used to call it clean chocolate. It may leave as much mess but it is not as noticeable.
