Mounjaro confusion

I am still confused but my interpretation is if you normally take on Mon but forget you can take on tues, wed or thurs and take your next dose on Mon but if you still haven't taken then just take your next dose on Mon as usual otherwise your doses will be too close together and you are more likely to get side effects.
OK thanks. So I took Friday just gone but can I take Tuesday then go back to Monday the following week. Only other option is waiting until a week Monday resulting in a 9 day gap although unless I am wrong two weeks is maximum gap before one has to go back to 2.5mg.

Hi @HalfpipMarathon, I’m slightly confused (late in the evening etc…)
but what exactly were your asking / what was the side effect that you didn’t feel right

if your looking at taking a second dose within 7 days
the most important thing you need to be aware of is, the maximum dose in 7days is 15mg

although it’s not officially recognised / recommended to take
other than the dose you are usually taking ( a fixed amount once every 7 days)

Mounjaro can (according to the manufacturer Libby) be taken if needed every 4 days provided the maximum of 15mg weekly dosage isn’t exceeded

you say your getting your Mounjaro on prescription, are you getting a single disposable pen containing a months supply ?
If so you can actually dial up with the pen a part dose
this is done by “counting the clicks” a full dose will be 60 clicks (obviously this only works on a quick pen which I think generally we get here in the uk) rather than a one jab disposable pen

whilst this is not the way it’s designed to be administered
believe me it does

I have several friends who are self funding rather than on prescription
(it’s actually called micro-dosing)

Plus
I’ve done it myself one time I went up to the 10 mg pen, and that day felt I just couldn’t eat, so the following week, only dialled up 40 clicks on a 10mg dose pen (so that was actually 7.5mg)

hope this helps & thanks for tagging me in @Leadinglights

worth a quick search on you tube for:
counting clicks Mounjaro quick pen it might explain
as I’ve already posted this I’m told, that knowledge can be useful for self-funders, of which I am not myself but I can assure you I know a few who are and do it

Maybe I will wait until Friday then but not happy about it. Monday is my preferred day as any side effects have worn off by the weekend
You took your last dose on Friday 11th so your next dose is due Friday 18th. If you miss that dose and instead take it on Monday 21st instead that is within the guidelines.

I get it on NHS one pen has 4 doses plys extra for priming.

The queasiness was more intense. I decided to drop down to 10mg but couldn't get the pen until Thursday.

In the meantime I had decided to persevere with the 12.5mg and save the 10mg until the 12.5mg pen was finished. 1 prefer to take my injections Monday so the half life occurs by the weekend. I thought that if you wanted to change injection days you had to gave 72 hrs in between injections. To me Friday is 1 day, Saturday is 1 and Sunday is a1 day so 3 days but if I have to wait until Friday I rather have a break which I believe is OK as long as it's no longer than 2 weeks unless I am wrong, or do it Tuesday which would be truly 3 days.

If as you quote Mounjaro can be taken every four days not that I would can't see the issue with taking one dose Friday and then one probably Tuesday if Friday is not included in the 72 hours

It sounds like any sooner than Friday and you run the risk of exceeding the 15mg maximum that @goodybags mentions?

Sounds like if you’d rather take it on Mondays, then following @Thebearcametoo ‘s plan would work?

correct @Leadinglights if @HalfpipMarathon were to take another dose (of either) 10mg or 12.5mg within 7 days of taking the last dose (of 12.5mg on 11th)
that would indeed exceed the maximum dose within the 7 day period
some people when they increase the dose do feel initially the dose is to much for them
and reduce back to the previous dose as I did when I first took the 10mg dose

@HalfpipMarathon what was the side effect / concern that you experienced on taking the 12.5mg dose last Friday ?

Queasiness although not as bad as the first 2 weeks as my 2nd injection of 12.5mg was Monday 31st March before I went away on 4th April.

I am just confused as people say 3 or 4 days between doses if you want to change injection day but then say what you are saying.

If I cannot take the next dose of 12.5mg or 10mg tomorrow or Wednesday or even Thursday then I am going to wait until Monday 21st. I would prefer to finish the 12.5mg this week either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday even then take 10mg on Monday 21st presume this is doable

If you take your dose earlier than next Friday you are effectively overdosing which will likely make side effects worse, so if you want to get back to Monday, don't take it this week and take the next jab a week today ie Easter Monday.

Thank you everyone who responded to my post yesterday.

The following is my last post on this topic so just to update:

I have today checked with the pharmacist at my local Boots pharmacy who confirmed that if I injected Friday that I am OK to inject my next dose tomorrow (Tues) then return to Monday next week which from tomorrow would 5-6 days.

As he's a qualified professional I will take his advice as above.

I hope you were able to give the pharmacist the information about your situation in a less confusing manner than you did here.
