I watched this episode of 'Dad's Army' (yet) again this evening: brilliant writing and acting! Even several of the actors messing up their lines just seemed to give a sense of realism to it.

What other sitcom episodes would make your top twenty (all 12 of 'Fawlty Towers' for a start, I guess)?

"I 'ate you Butler!". Yes, some of these haven't dated well :-( I used to love 'Bless This House' (well, anything with Sid James in it really) and 'George and Mildred', although they make me cringe nowadays.

I guess I'm showing my age with some of these

I guess you're a couple of years older than me! I was a bit young to get into 'On the Buses' or 'Man About the House' when they were on the first time round.

Round the Horn
The Jimmy Clitheroe show
The Navy Lark

OFAH

Definitely before my era - although I love Hancock. To my shame I also love Carry On films, so I've heard some of the catchphrases from those shows: "I only arsked!".

You highlighted some great classics. I’d like to add Rising damp & Porridge? Which was repeated back in the day. But I was into stuff like the young ones, spaced, Nathan Barley, League of gentlemen. Who I also saw live on tour. The Orville. Which is a kind of sitcom based in space was well done too.

Oh you remind me
Men behaving badly, absolute classic and more up to date than my other picks

Yes: Ronnie Barker was a genius as a writer and performer. I loved 'The Young Ones' too, even though their parody of 'The Two Ronnies' hastened Barker's retirement! Their 'University Challenge' parody was great too.

The rant at the “Good life?” With Vivienne.

Peckham spring, the chandler cleaning one, Rodney & Damion reactions were funny.
Of course! The set-up and timing - and Grandad coming in at the end: "All right Del?".

I've often thought that OFAH is a successor to Laurel & Hardy - at least before it became sentimental, when Uncle Albert took over from Grandad -(
