Happy, sad ba humbug whatever how do you feel, what are you doing Are you on your own with friends/family etc Just thought it might be nice to cheque in with each other

Spent the morning by myself with my sisters dog, I watched church online, sister went for a morning swim, brother went to work (in a church). Don’t mind a morning alone too much as usually live alone plus feeling a bit rubbish with dodgy stomach and high bg.

We’ll cook dinner here this afternoon then drive it up to my parents (they’re slow cooking the beef we’re doing the rest). Present exchange will be after evening meal.

I feel OK but tired, I was up at 5.30 for work and have been running round all morning. I'm almost done so I'll be going home shortly to chill out 🙂

The turkey crown's out of the oven and resting: I have a ten-minute break now whilst my mother and sister bicker in the kitchen about how best to carry out the complex task of cutting avocados in half and spooning read-made prawn cocktail into them 🙄.

feeling happy with family I'm watching the Grinch while hubby is busy doing prep for dinner, I help where I can but can't stand for long in the kitchen without my hip and knee hurting, so he is the main chef daughter and boyfriend will help later, at the moment there in the middle of building a walk in wardrobe in our spare room its huge 8 ft high and 11 ft on one wall and 7 ft on the other, with a corner unit.

The problem with something that big is having space to assemble it as flat is often easier but then you have to be able to get it upright.
I was remembering that 3 years ago Other half did all the Xmas lunch as I was still in a knee brace after my knee surgery after my accident.

Yes its a nightmare there struggling with it, as its also wide its giving them even less space, will be fantastic once its finished though, its from IKEA there was 78 items delivered some boxed others bits like shelves were just wrapped in plastic covering, she has noticed several shelves are chipped on the corners so she's not happy it cost them £1300 ive told her to email them pictures, I know they won't be seen when the doors are closed but that's not the point, I hate leaving it all to my hubby but the bonus it he loves cooking

I’m sorry that so many of you seem to be having a miserable time. I’m in Turin with my partner and we are about to cook Osso Buco for dinner. Hope your day isn’t all that bad. I do recommend leaving the country if you are able to.

Great advice: in the past I've escaped a UK Christmas by going to Tunisia, which is quick to get to, fairly inexpensive, reasonable weather and uninterested in Christmas.

Had a lovely day with the Wife, she's just popped off to bed, I cooked lunch and it was nice, even managed a couple of TV progs (Wallace & Gromit and Gavin n Stacy) and had a nice relaxing stress free day.
Not everyone likes the festive period for many and varied reasons, and I get that. So its worth pausing and sparing a thought for those that are alone, unwell or just plain unhappy.
I feel very lucky to have all the things that I do have in my life.
