Hello.

Hope you’re all doing well.

I’m plodding on with things. Still eating right and doing all the things necessary. Currently wavering between 10 and 11lbs lost since 18th October - which is all good.

I’ve got a quick question about Mounjaro - which I will be starting after Christmas. How long are diabetics allowed to stay on it in the UK? I know that the original guideline was 2 years - is this still the same? I gather there is nothing stopping you staying on it permanently in the USA. Do we know if there are plans to allow people to stay on it here if it proves to be effective in managing blood sugars and weight?

I know the whole weight loss medication thing is moving at a tremendous pace, globally. It just seems harder to find the info for the UK compared to the USA.

Hi @Katetype2 - fantasically well done with the weight loss - top work - Not my area of expertise I'm afraid so unable to offer any advice - hopefully some of our other users will be able to help?

Hi @Katetype2 well done on your weight loss (especially as that’s pre MJ)

Good question, I was thinking the same myself, I’ve been on MJ about 6 months now myself, as you probably already know it’s a medication where once it’s introduced you slowly increase it’s strength ,but Im thinking it’s taken as long as it’s needed depending on your BMI & ultimately your Hba1c

I think for non-Diabetic people who are only using it for weight loss it’s just quick fix

but for us T2’s part of your Diabetic control, and you kind of keep taking it unless your in remission from T2 (or pre-diabetic)

I shall ask next time I speak to my GP
