Anybody found the table conversions e.g. mmol/l to mmol/mol reliable or fairly useless?

Just curious while im waiting for my next a1c test. I can see some of the conversions vary a lot.

Personally frankly I have never, ever, found them at all accurate - although might be within 5 ish.

It only gives you a rough idea of where your HbA1c might be, but you would need 10-12 weeks worth of finger prick results to be comparing like-with-like. Over the 5 years that I've used it I've found it to be accurate to within +/- 2, so it gives me a range rather than an exact match.

Which charts/tables are you looking at?
How many weeks of BG readings are you using to get your average and when are you testing? You need a reasonably representative sample because obviously BG levels fluctuate quite a bit throughout the day and night.

Yeah the were never anything more than a vague indication for me, even when basing the GMI (glucose management indicator) from 24/7 CGM glucose values.

There was some chat and geekery about this topic here which you may enjoy
