Just got the results from HbA1c test last week. Down to 77 mmol/ mol. Also I have gained 2.5kg since March. Still a way to go until blood glucose is down to safe levels. Review with diabetes nurse next week so feeling quite positive. Only downside was the eye test. I need glasses for driving now as well as for reading. Oh well....maybe my vision will improve when bg is stable.

That's a great result, beating the target your DN set - well done with that and regaining some of the diabetes-related weight loss,

Ignore the eye test. High blood sugar changes the shape of the lens. There's no point having an eye test until blood glucose has stabilised.

And well done on getting it down!

I was aware of this but knew I needed stronger prescription for reading as I was struggling. No option about driving prescription. Failed minimum DVLA requirements by a long way. Not allowed to drive until new glasses ready next week. As I live in a very rural area I need to be able to drive. Short term my hubby is acting as a taxi service. Booking another eye test when bg levels are lower and stable.
