Hello l am 69 and as diagnosed in October with type2. I had a hbac1 of 105 so pretty ill at that stage having had various symptoms for the previous 12 months and seeing different GPs. Unfortunately the dots never got put together and hence late diagnosis. Took a while to get to grips with this. Still adjusting from various tablets and doses. Have lost 1 stone in weight and would really like to try and get into remission.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you had such a delay in diagnosis. What are you doing at the moment to manage your T2 in terms of diet and meds?

Welcome to the forum @DCE

Sorry to hear about the challenges you faced getting diagnosed. It can be so difficult having to tell the same story to multiple different HCPs can’t it, who all interpret it differently!

Congratulations on your weight loss. Have you been using anything to help with that? Like a diet book, or local group?

We have a number of members (including @Martin.A ) who have started with an HbA1c in 3 figures, but have managed to reach the generally agreed criteria for T2 remission. It’s not possible for everyone, but can be a strong encourager for people to make positive changes. 🙂

Good luck with your efforts!
