Hello. I take Metformin for PCOS but I've been unable to get hold of Diagemet for a while. I've tried lots of other brands but the tablet shapes make me gag (I also have anxiety). Can anyone recommend another brand I could try that has a similar tablet shape? I take the 500mg slow release and the Diagemet ones are kind of oval shaped. Many thanks.

Welcome @gummybear 🙂 Have you tried asking the pharmacist? Speaking as someone who couldn’t swallow any tablets well into my teens, I’d say that it would be useful practising the technique - because it most definitely is a technique. I was afraid of choking or them getting stuck in my throat and the more someone tried to teach me, the more stressed I got. The answer was to teach myself. Definitely worth a try as sadly we often have to take more meds as we get older and many don’t come in liquids or certain shapes.

Sukkarto SR are the same shape and look like the same size.(these are Prolonged Release Metformin)

All the brands of metformin sr that I’ve ever taken have been that shape, they’re never a round shape because of the size, always oval

Welcome to the forum @gummybear

Hope you are able to find an alternative that you find it possible to swallow.
