Hi All
I’m a wife of a type 1 diabetic also a quadruple bypass survivor!
We can’t get his diabetes under control we need help are there any easy reads out there or courses we could do? Everything that is wrong with him and there is a lot, according to the Dr is due to his diabetes and we are waiting on a specialist appointment but who knows how long that will be!
So advice help would be appreciated.
Thankyou

I am a T2 so really cannot say anything sensible but I am sure some of ous T1's will be along soon with some ideas. In the mean time it might be helpful if you could expand on the problems he is having in controlling his diabetes? Is he using a libre for example and what insulins is he on?

Welcome @Lois2560 Sorry to hear about your husband’s difficulties. Can I ask what insulins he takes? Does he have a Libre? Does he carb count and adjust his mealtime insulin according to the carbs he’s about to eat?

The Bertie course is online, so is the libre academy courses if he has a libre

And if all that learning seems like it will take a while to work through, you/he can always ask specific questions here to get started on any ideas that might help with the most pressing issues
