Hello to you all. I've just joined this morning and have taken a look around the site, mostly recipes! Is there anything you'd recommend taking a look at?
I was diagnosed as T2 several years ago, but think I've been burying my head for far too long, and haven't been the best diabetic around!
I'm currently doing the 16:8 diet and it seems to be working for me.

And well done for deciding to engage with your diabetes in a slightly more front-of-mind way.

There are lots of different approaches people take to food and diet in the forum (partly because everyone reacts to food differently, so there are no hard and fast rules about what any one individual can and can’t eat, but also because people’s diabetes can vary so much).

Some aim for a moderate or low carb approach, with their primary aim being blood glucose management. This is more of a long term shift towards finding a way of eating that suits their metabolism, and gives them the BG results they are looking for. Weight loss can happen as a happy side effect of this approach.

Others aim for substantial weight loss, sometimes using a short term very low calorie intervention, because this can ‘reboot’ the pancreas and metabolism in some cases. This is sometimes called the Newcastle 800 or NHS Soup and Shake diet.
