Somerset based Type 1

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend has just moved to Taunton, Somerset and is Type 1. I was hoping to try and find a few people in the loca area that are also diabetic to meet up with but I’m struggling to find any sort of support group or social club in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Diabetes SW / Central has an office in Taunton, and I think they are quote active in the area

I’m not sure if there’s a local group in Taunton itself (it doesn’t look like it), but you could call the office to ask?

Perhaps also look at the Taunton hospital diabetes website, there might be a link to a group or even ring the diabetes centre there and ask if they can help.

Hi @Rose.A the local group in Taunton is no longer in operation, and was mainly T2 people, but there are active T1 groups in Bristol. There are also a variety of online options.

This Forum is a great way of ‘meeting’ others, with some regional meet ups.
It would be great to see your boyfriend at the meet up in September.
Hope to see him there.
