I try to be mindful of my intake of manufactured food
That is the secret for me.
I don't stuff myself with manufactured food. I cook most of what I eat from scratch.
But I don't restrict myself from the occasional Magnum or fake meat sandwich if I fancy it. They are occasional not every day ... or even every week.

I just make sure I am aware of what I am eating and maintain a healthy balance. Life is for enjoying not wrapping myself up in sack cloth and eating low carb low fat unprocessed lettuce leaves all the time.

Must admit love magnums, some supermarkets do own version which are nearly as good, morrisons is one.
Sainsbury's do their own, called Indulgence.

I tried a Guuud Greek Yogurt Ice Cream lolly today. Quite nice, only 13g carb and a 10th of the fat of a Magnum. Felt like a cross between ice cream and sorbet. Anyone else tried these?

The mini Magnums are less at 14g. They’re so sweet these days, that’s enough for me! 🙂
Love a mini magnum...the fat may not be of the best type but there is morale to consider

Had sainsburys Martin, very nice they are.

Damn - I'm wanting that ruddy Solero now ! I hardly ever fancy anything resembling an ice lolly, but they just have the right balance of tangy and sweet to hit my right spots when it's stupidly warm. Don't think I've had one since we went to Oz in the noughties!

I don't think it would be considered excessive to have another one now then. :D

Only by me it would though since we don't have any nearby shops - and in any case we did a big shop for the next week cos we're off in our Moho for a week tomorrow, main roads all the way there then a Lane where the campsite is, not a shop, pub or cafe to nip to, at Tescos this very morning just before you planted that ruddy taste 'worm' !!

Anyone tried freezing bananas just before they go off.
OK, they are not low carb but that does not mean they are "bad".
You have to slightly defrost them because they are too hard straight out of the freezer.
But a valid use for overripe bananas when you get bored with banana bread

The ingredients lists is an eye-opener for sure!
About the same carbs per 100g as a ordinary Magnum but less sugar because it uses erythritol and less carbs per portion as the a portion is 65g as opposed to 100g.
Depends on how you feel about artificial sweeteners.

Eat them in the few days after freezing. They’re not so nice if you leave them for too long!

I have some lolly moulds - during a recent bout of tidying I found them at the back of one of the kitchen cupboards, probably been unused for 30 years, but the milkman has an offer on cream this week.
I blended some strawberries and cream, added a little sweetener and a drop of vodka to stop it freezing into a hard icicle, and it is just a tiny amount. I thinned it with a little water and then froze it into lollies. Not bad on a muggy June afternoon.

I bought ice cream today, I'm going to die happy not healthy,
I will keep it down to just a small scoop and see how I go

made some sorbet yesterday. small handful of frozen berries in a food processor for 20 seconds with a splash of coconut milk

then in a bowl and freeze for another 20 mins before eating.

better content than most of the other things i can buy but small enough portion to not do a lot of damage for me.
