Hi all,
Recently started having issues where the libre will only work in my right arm and as soon as I put one in my left arm it instantly says my sugars are low even though they are borderline high. I just wondered if any of you have/had the same issue and why?

I'm convinced that my libre is more accurate on my left arm. No idea why.

Hello,

Are you scanning with the Abbot app, or a third party like XDrip? (Taking a Bluetooth feed.)

Hi,

Scanning with the abbot app, have no issues at all when I put it on my right arm either.

That’s blown my thoughts out the water.

I do know with my watch (running a stripped back version of xDrip. Using like a CGM.) if my bloods go stratospheric. (Flying above 22mmol.) The graph stops at a point then continues in the sub 2mmol. Once the correction dose kicks in. Things correspond with the meter.

Funny enough only just started to use both arms again, for long time just didn't get reliable readings on left arm, so always wore it on right arm & chest /stomach.

Do you start the sensor as soon as you apply it or do you give it a day or two to bed in?
I don't know why it would be the case (maybe the way you apply it?) but is it possible that it needs longer bedding in on the left?
I only mentioned this because you said "as soon as I applied it ..."

I start the sensor straight away, I used to use both arms absolutely fine but the last couple I have tried on my left arm now don't seem to be working whereas they were working perfectly fine before on my left as well as right

Weirdly, my left arm is my least favourite. I think arms vary and the muscle/fat distribution can be different on each. I have to be more fussy about where I place my sensor on my left arm.

Could that be down to being left or right handed? That said, it works perfectly well on either arm for for me though.

No - I’m ambidextrous so I’m sure it’s an arm difference, in the same way that our faces aren’t symmetrical maybe our limbs naturally vary too.
