I’ve been asked to go for a coeliac test, in addition to my usual 3 monthly tests - my usual tests check iron as mine is low and do a blood smear and blood count to monitor the types of white blood cells as my white blood cell count is always high.
I haven’t reported any symptoms or requested the coeliac test so I’m guessing either one of my outstanding referrals (awaiting an assessment for ME) requested it, or it’s been added on because of the low iron. Did have a coeliac test before but I’d guess 7-10 years ago. I’ve booked the appointment but next available one is several weeks away.
Has anyone been found positive for coeliac with only general symptoms of exhaustion and low iron? I do regularly eat bread but don’t think i specifically get an upset stomach after it, though I have always had a bit of an IBS type issue. Toast or a biscuit would usually be my go to foods to settle stomach though, so thinking that means it will probably be negative?
