fall asleep

At risk of diabetes
for a long time ive been eating biscuits , cake , crumpets , criossants puddings . if i eat one i eat them all.. loads pnut butter too. no cereal pastas rice., constantly hungry..because i had bad digstive issues . But i cut back as was off a med which eating any carbs fruit etc would make me high chatty and awake still till 1 2 . and anxious as i was tapering off all for sleep, which i know now too late are drugs my gp should never have given soo long. I am still.on one and just cant taper and she added an antidepressant and my digesrtion is normal again except i keep falling asleep eating and its only when i sit down. im morr relaxed etc and now eat . xmas i ate everything , ok sirtting at table but again in the evening cos id had mince piesin day id zonk.out ages in the evening . still no pee in night ... even so my sugars have been 5.4 good waking as was pre so keep a check. .. now i am immobile as had a big leg op. still look for biscuits and have put on 1 half stone.of course from food.. still.fall.asleep, sausages and chips and some chocolate and zonked.. my mouth is always dry but thats the meds. since immobile and my op my waking sugars have been 7.1 to 8.9 and bedtime 9.5.. but i also on opiates for pain and i dont sleep well ..i wasnt peeing on my meds in the night before op then added opiods and 1st night peed 4 times , and now once or twice . now have itching down below ... my sugars were 7.1 waking . i have a hbac test is 2 weeks.. my drugs are very relaxing but no idea why i now fall asleep and why since op im peeing more in the night since more drugs for pain and op. theres no sugar in my pee.. im not able to walk .

Sorry to hear what a tough time you’ve been having @Basten

Illness and injury can raise you glucose levels, as will those carby comfort foods. Are you checking your levels 2 hrs after meals? You may be rising above range soon after eating (the first 1-2 hours) which can make you feel very tired and lethargic.

thankyou. i am having hab1c test Monday . no im.not as i forget.. my sugars waking used to be ok 5.4 now vary 5.8 6m1..6.8 once wsz 8.9. i am inactive at moment. Gastro didnt know but said could be dumping syndrome aviod sugar. will have to wait a week till.blood results back. thankyou .
