Hi - thanks for this - I am hoping to reverse my diabetes by the third month - so fingers crossed, 2 months to go!
What approach are you using. What is your HbA1C that you started at.
Good luck and welcome I should have said.

I had 7,2 cholesterol and 51 blood sugar - I am making dietary changes as I am informed that is all I need to do - I already have an energetic job so it wasnt through being inactive I came to be in the situation I am - It was rather a shock to be honest.

An HbA1C of 51mmol/mol isn't too bad, just on the bottom end of the diabetic zone, I started off at 50 and adopted the principals in this link https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/ and was able to reduce my level to 42 in 3 months and 36 after another 6 months. I reduced my total carb intake to 70g per day but in hindsight it was too much reduction too quickly as I had some issues with my eyes. I only found out by reading on here that was most likely the reason.
Low carb is suggested as less than 130g carbs per day, but some do go lower than that.
Whatever you do has to be enjoyable otherwise it is not sustainable, and I find my regime is really my new way of eating.

Welcome to the forum @Poshy

The diagnosis line for diabetes is an HbA1c of 48, so you aren’t far over the cut-off.

Hopefully with a few tweaks to your menu you should see some positive progress. While there are obvious things like cakes, biscuits, sweets and sugary drinks that you will want to cut out straight away, you might be surprised how much *all* carbohydrate affects your BG levels, including rice, pasta, potatoes, bread, pastry, grains, cereals and many fruits - so being careful about your total carbohydrate intake, and reducing portion sizes or looking for lower carb swaps (eg swede or celeriac mash instead of potato) can be a very poserful strategy.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on 🙂
