Hi Sarah,

I share a few of your issues, can I ask how you got referred for a cardiac assessment? This is something that worries me with a very high cholesterol level, I assume I am also at risk but not had any checks (that I know of) I have my blood pressure taken, they took it twice as it was very high and then the second time much lower (white coat reading the first one I assume). Do you have any aches and pains in the right hand side of your chest. I get what I would describe as fireworks in my chest at times, and wonder if its my heart or maybe my fatty liver? I hope you get a good result xx

The loss of smell is hard I imagine, I only had that with COVID and it was horrible as lack of smell equals lack of taste which makes a restrictive diet even harder doesnt it. x

Don't so much have loss of taste with me, but have lived with loss of smell for over 20years. I have learned to live wit it.

Hi Jenny
Thank you and sorry you are going through similiar.
I get left side pains that shoot down my arm and into my arm pit and breast, have had half a dozen abnormal ecg results over the last year including one for tachycardia when in pain with a pancreatitis flare. It was a neurosurgeon that arranged it all as a recent mri has showed ischaemia damage related to diabetes which is a vascular condition and I also have raynards and very unstable bp despite being on multiple meds for it.
Main concern is that I get vision loss when migraines hit and there’s serious heart disease on both sides of the family and strokes and clotting disorders as well.
I do get some right side pain but that’s been put down to pancreatitis due to gallstones, also ended up with liver issues because of it too and had a week in hospital for same due to jaundice last year.
Have had a two day bp monitor on recently and last week had a cardiac monitor fitted for five days so now is the waiting game.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions and thank you again x

Diabetes
Psoriasis
Fluid build up in legs that is still being investigated
Migraines

Sorry you guys have been and are going through so much. Apart from the betes, I too have womb hyperplasia and Raynaud's also diagnosed with gerd last year so that’s always fun. Have also had eating problems and have a very long list of problems related to my pregnancy’s also suffered miscarriage. Looks like that shitty stick hit quite a few of us on it’s way down !

So sorry you have been through same, it really is horrible and the services really don’t seem to be able to link together over everything x

Reynauds.
That's it.
As far as I know, it is unrelated to diabetes as I have had it 30 years longer. Howe, it could be another auto immune condition

On the upside my dead fingers make an excellent halloween party trick

Gastric dumping syndrome
Bowel adhesion and permanent partial small intestine obstruction. Both of these are related to my op to remove my pancreas, so kind of diabetes related.
Two rubbish shoulders, frozen and bursitis related.
Dodgy hip. Old age!
Other than that I’m as fit as a fiddle! 😉

That looks like Reynauds.
It is commonly a genetic condition inherited through the female line - my grandmother and mother had it.
Our blood vessels shrink when we get cold or stressed. A hypo can trigger it for me but, as I have no blood in my fingers, I cannot take a finger prick reading to confirm. Unfortunately, it has never been considered by NICE as a justification for a CGM.
It rarely causes me any other problems but occasionally can result in painful pins and needles when the blood starts flowing again.
I also get it in my feet where it is associated with chilblains, especially if the blood start flowing too quickly.

As it has been in my family for as long as I can remember and I have had it since childhood, it causes more alarm for others than it dies for me.

I think you can take some drugs to minimise the affect but I declined when offered. Warm gloves are easier.

Anixity
Dypraxia
Something yet to we worked out.

Same issue re testing here, one dr told me I can appeal nice guidelines if I end up on insulin but not found info online so far. Used to take meds for it but gave me hot sweats and hands swelled up and pain was much worse than the raynards cramping in hands and feet.

Are you just after diagnosed or all conditions?

Diagnosed:
Type 2
Asthma, eczema, hay-fever, multiple chemical allergies including latex and various plaster/ dressing adhesives
History of depression

Undiagnosed but fairly certain I have/had:
Autism - kids and sibling diagnosed
ADHD (inattentive type) - one of my kids diagnosed
Probably Developmental Coordination Disorder (sometimes referred to as dyspraxia though some OTs say that'sa specific part of the umbrella) - I'm frequently clumsy and one of my kids is diagnosed
Some level of hypermobility, possibly something rheumatic
Previous compulsive eating (binge eating) disorder
ETA - likely PCOS - I was diagnosed with dysmenorrhoea previously and later told I had all the symptoms of PCOS but was unable to be tested at the time, and never pursued testing as I didn't have difficulty conceiving. If I do have PCOS, that is of course closely linked to increased insulin resistance
