Maybe Diabetes Uk should fund some research into all this. I myself would be willing to selflessly volunteer to be paid to drink free booze.

Beg your pardon. I seem to have started the research already. :D

I would also love to lend a hand with that kind of research :D Free booze is good booze lol

I'm definatly not going to give advice on alcohol. At the moment I drink what I like (which is umm a scary amount) when I like, and I don't usually test my blood glucose levels whilst i'm out. bad bad diabetic.

i'm the same katie!!! i find it most annoying taking it out with me (testing kit), have even had bouncers confiscate it in a club because apparently i could harm people with it... (not quite sure how)

so last time i went out, i had few drinks at home (cheaper!) and then tested before i went out (11.3) and tested when i got home (HI - bad bad bad) but injected my lantus and woke up the next day and it was 14... not ideal but would rather be high than low when drinking, and spent sunday testing every few hours and sorting out my humalog

if anyone has any other advice, (perhaps on how a testing kit could actually be harmful so i can go back to that bouncer and give him wot for) then by all means, its all much appreciated!!

ta everyone for the advice

xxxx 😛

I am always very high when I go to bed, usually in the high 20's, I drink a couple of glasses of water, have a snack and then wake up around 7.
The alcohol really drops me overnight so I don't know what would happen if I didn't get my blood sugar up so high before bed.
