Hi. Was diagnosed with type 2 in April. Need to go way back. In my early 20s was diagnosed with hypoglycemia and told to eat slow release carbs. Also had ME at the time. Didn't have kids til my late 30s cos of health. Got gestational diabetes with second child then bg normal after birth. So never been very good controlling bg levels. Just turned 50 and put a bit of weight on during lockdown. Hba1c was 91 then 63 now 43. Lost 1stone 8lbs. On Metformin twice a day. GP was really pleased. But told him I've had a few hypos so now referred me to diabetic clinic. He also referred me for liver/pancreatic scan. It's because I told him stools have been a bit loose since starting metformin and some occasions can be a bit paler in colour but then normal again. He thinks it's the meds but referred me anyway. Unfortunately I went on Dr Google which now has me believing I've got liver disease or pancreatic cancer or both. All my blood results are normal but I have a terrible mistrust of Drs having been misdiagnosed for yrs before ME diagnosis and was ill at 14 but not believed for months until eventually blood test showed glandular fever. Used to avoid Drs as much as possible and now finding it difficult having to go to appts and having tests. Really having to face my fears but have a very supportive husband and family. Was diagnosed with Health Anxiety years ago but can feel it starting to take control of me again. Used to offload to my lovely Mum but just lost her to dementia.
