Feeling unwell after eating

Hi I’m newly diagnosed type 2. I’ve made changes to my diet. I have cut down in carbs moved over to whole wheat and have cut out the majority of the sugar I was eating before. The strange thing is before when I was eating all of the wrong food I felt fine - but now I’m eating much more healthier I feel awful when I have finished my meals. I feel sick, shaky just not well. I realise my body will have to adjust to the Changes I have made but I wonder if anyone has any thought or ideas about how I manage this. Thank you

As you say your body has to get used to changes and a drastic reduction in carbs all in one go can be a shock to the system, also people tend to lose fluid by reducing carbs so can become dehydrated especially in this hot weather.
A good start is to make a food diary of everything you eat and drink and estimate the Total carbs you wer ehaving before making the changes and gradually reduce them over a few weeks, by one third for a couple of weeks, then another third until you get to where you need to be.
It will depend on what your HbA1C is as to how much work you need to do but if just into the diabetic zone then some modest changes only may be needed. You do not need to have no carbs but reducing portions and avoiding some of the bib hitters. If you are going to follow a low carb approach then eventually you want to think about having no more than 130g per day but do go to there gradually.
