Have you checked with your diabetes nurse /team that the shakes are OK if you are taking insulin. If you are do make sure you have hypo treatments available.
I just wonder why you are on insulin when your HbA1C is 57mmol/mol or was it just a temporary measure. Sorry if that is a stupid question.

I think it was just a temporary measure as my blood sugars were in their 20s to begin with and I was having symptoms and feeling really unwell with it all. I’ve stopped Novorapid now, and just taking lanctus the clinicians advice was to half insulin and be off it in 4/5 days and for my GP to begin gliclazide, but also begin Ozempic soon

If you are taking the gliclazide you need to be careful of too low carb as that is a medication that can cause low blood glucose so should be checking regularly.
Do you drive? if you do then there are rules about driving when on insulin or some other meds. There is a link on the site about it if you need it.

I haven’t started this medication yet, infact it hasn’t actually been discussed with me, just a clinic letter sent to my GP. I’m going to be seen in clinic on the 30th so I guess they’ll give me more information, just feel like I’m being left in the dark ‍♀️
