Hello lovelies , so my mumma got a cook book that’s for keto receipes . I found one that I want to cook but I have some problems :
1. I don’t drink red wine
2. Would this mess with my sugars even though it cooks off ?
3. Is there a replacement for wine to add to this receipe or does it taste better with wine???

Because it’s absolutely freezing and I would love to come home to a yum yum dinner one night . I have been dying to cook this receipe for ages as I miss eating it .

Please and thankyou

Cooking with red wine is not quite the same as drinking it so it depends on what your reason is for not having it.
If it is used in keto recipes then I think it should be safe for blood glucose.
Substitutes would probably be higher in carbs, like cider, beer, you could try a dry white wine.

Hello leadinglights ,
I’m just not a drinker especially red wine I don’t like the taste to be honest , the red wine is purely for cooking this particular receipe . With low carb veggies sounds so so so good .

I think if you don't like the taste probably better to leave it out as it will impart a flavour to the meat or you could just use less than it says and try it.

It’s beef braised in red wine so if you really don’t like red wine then I’d suggest making something else!

Just use more stock, plus you can add some red wine vinegar for a bit of acidity. I don't like wine either, but I've used the red wine vinegar without noticing any wine taste.
