Welcome to the forum. Many people find it quite a shock though sometimes they suspect something is not right but non the less it is a lot to get your head around and the support is a bit hit and miss from some surgeries.
Would you like to say a bit about your diagnosis, what your HbA1C is and have you been given any medication and advice about modifying your diet. All that will help people make appropriate comments and advice.
