Hi @Bighead 🙂 Do you have the Libre 2? There are lots of Libre users here. How long have you had Type 1?

The rules to get a Libre on the NHS have changed recently to allow more Type 1s to have them. Someone will have a link for you (sorry - I don’t). Do you have a telephone number for your DSN? Even if you’ve asked recently, I’d phone them again and refer to the new guidelines.

As Inka says speak to your diabetes team, I had a face to face with mine last month and they gave me libre 2 there and then. They ask you to link it to them so they can see your results and after 2 weeks they gave me a ring to ask how I was going with it , and then added it to my prescription.
Hope you get sorted soon

Sorry to hear you have been having difficulty getting hold of Libre on prescription.

Until recently the mandatory national criteria for NHS England were like this:

Essentially, if your diabetes management required you to check BG 8 or more times a day, then prescribing Libre was cost-effective

Recent NICE guidance recommends Libre or rtCGM should be offered more widely, to all people with T1D, but this may take a little while to roll-out over the coming years.

I got offered libre as soon as my t1 diagnosis was confirmed...in fact had trainj g on it same day (though that was more a happy accident)
