Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello!
Just another type 1 diabetic here 🙂 I am a 25 year old female, was diagnosed almost 1.5 years back. I moved to London shortly after, and have been here for a year now. Still learning more and more about it, and hoping to make some new friends here, and learn from people's experiences!

Hi and welcome @meha1209 glad you've joined us 🙂

How have the past 1.5 years been for you? Are you on MDI or a pump, Libre?

You've found a good place to make some new friends who 'get' diabetes & know how exasperating it can be sometimes!

Aaah, but you aren't 'just another' anything - neither are any of us - we are all our very own special sort of everything. eg. I'm a very special sort of great grandma, amongst other things. Saw one of the 3yo ggs tonight - he came dashing in asking where his half brother was? No - he isn't here, he sometimes is found at your other grandma's house, but not this grandma .... made us all giggle at him - which is lovely!

Ohh theyve been rather interesting haha! Lots of new things to learn. I'm currently on MDI with libre.
Thank you so much! Very excited to meet new people 🙂

That's so cute! He sounds adorable 🙂

Welcome to the forum @meha1209 from a late starter (aged 53). I am glad that you have found us.

Fire away with any questions you have. There I so loads of experience to tap into on here.

One thing is for certain, diabetes like all things in life is continuous learning curve.

Welcome to the forum @meha1209

Glad you have joined us! Living with T1 can be quite an isolating experience - I went nearly 20 years without really talking to or meeting anyone else with T1, and the handful of people I did meet seemed to have a diabetes that didn’t behave anything like mine!

But here you have lots of stories and experiences to delve into, a big hive mind full of centuries of lived experience, and broad shoulders to lean on when things are tough.

Was there anything in particular that made you want to connect with others living with diabetes at the moment?
