Hello all , so I had my eyes test done today for the diabetic verision and appranetly I’m all clear on that (he showed me my pictures ) but however they had to change my lenses for my left eye as I was born with a drifting left lazy eye as we were doing the test for numbers I could read all the numbers for my right but for my left it was blurry as hell , so I did everything and this other test where you click the button when you see light flashes everywhere , I failed 3 times on my right and 1 time on my left but he said that if an actually eye specialist looked at the graph cause your meant to be in green but I was in red and yellow so they would think I have the gl something something word , I don’t have it but they will keep an eye on me to make sure everything is okay , but appranetly I do have empha (can’t pronounce it at all) to many big words. This isn’t fun anymore I dislike being 29 :( , why can’t something good come out for once for me , I have my eye problems and now I’m a diabetic (not saying it’s a bad thing) but everything is literally catching up to me . Sorry for the rant but I think I’ve had enough of everything , I don’t know how much more I can possibly take :( . So I have to see the eye specialist every year so they can keep an eye on me . I know I’m strong but there only so much I can handle . One thing the eye person did say is that I claimed being a diabetic on Medicare is that a bad thing???? But he repeated it like another 2 times . So 2 weeks and I’ll get my new glasses and they are bigger then the ones I have . So can I please hid in a closet and someone wave there magical wond and make everything disappear please , I would appericate it a lot. I’m only 29 and this is a lot to handle :( .

Glad you have had your eye screening @Jacinta (Australian) - and it’s a good thing they will be keeping a close eye on things for you (haha!).

Sorry to hear you sounding so down. And you are right it can feel overwhelming when you get news like this one after another after another :(

Try not to be too disheartened though. The options for treatment of various eye conditions are getting better and better, with improved outcomes all the time. And the eye screening is designed to spot any changes very very early, long before they would cause you any noticeable changes, so that treatment for any emerging issues can begin before any significant damage occurs.

We have lots of members who have had various treatments for eye-related issues which have helped restore or stabilise their eye health.

Be kind to yourself, and allow yourself time to come to terms with this news. Be reassured that treatment is possible, and has a good chance of being highly effective.

Keeping your blood pressure and blood glucose levels within a healthy range as much as you can will really help too.

(((hugs))) to you.

LOL cheeky upsanddowns

not wrong it’s just overwhelming and just down right frustrating , it feels like it’s a never ending rollar collaster at this point .

that’s what the eye dude basically said and that people live happily a lot longer , I hope so cause this eye dude is the only one that explained everything to me so I could understand and I basically asked him a lot of questions aswell to get a better understanding .

I’m hoping this will fix my left eye and at least be up to my right one , because I read the letters with my right and he looked surprised so I wouldn’t mind my left eye to be able to do the same thing aswell instead of being blurry .

I’ll try my best , I guess it’s just a massive shock and I just need to let it sink in , as today I also find out what type I am aswell to make it offical what type care/ treatment plan will be needed to help me out . Then hopefully I can use today and tomorrow to let it sink in and then off to the nurse Thursday .
Appranetly with my blood pressure I sit a bit higher but not enough to make the doctor or nurse worry about it . And yes getting my blood glucose within range would be nice also . 🙂

(((( hugs back )))
