My friend received a call from her practice nurse today and was told recent blood results show she is diabetic. They’ve asked her to go in to see them tomorrow. She used her husband’s machine tonight to test and her glucose reading was 30! I’m shocked they’ve not got her in hospital or isn’t that needed anymore?

Hey, with sugars 30, I would have gone to the hospital. Not sure why they didn't send her there straight away.
Keep us updated on what Type, and tell her about the forum.

Hello @Linre ,

Welcome to the forum. I would encourage your friend to call the NHS 111 for further information/help. They could also ring our helpline as well.

Goodness @Linre ! What a shock for you all 😱

Let us know how everything goes tomorrow, and if there are any signs of ‘peardrop’ breath, vomiting or abdominal pain, please do encourage her to call NHS111 or go to A&E

She needs to immediately reduce her carb intake and have plenty of water and, yes, go to A&E if feeling unwell.
