No particular reason why I'm asking just being nosy really - what's everyone's target range? Mine is 5mmol - 8mmol

I'm type 2 and so far (4months in) I've not been given any targets at all not even weight loss (need to lose a few pounds thats it) the only thing I was told is to cut out fizzy drinks (didn'tdrink them anyway) added sugar (bearly used any)and cakes( bread is my down fall but not cakes). Saying that they even said don't finger pick test which after finding this forum I've disregarded and test. So I personally try to keep around 6 before food and no more than 8 a couple of hours later.

Target ranges are perhaps more aimed at people who are Type 1, I suppose for Type 2 the aim is for the normal before meals 4-7mmol/l and after meals less than 8.5mmol/l, but no target was ever mentioned to me other than for HbA1C to be below 42mmol/mol

Personally, that would be way too tight for me.
3.9 to 10 for me. Right now I'm managing a surprisingly high 94% TIR but that absolutely won't last now that we're in ice-cream season. 🙂

@Leadinglights I see that you're Type 2 whereas I'm Type 1 so unlike you I have a target range.

I wonder if anyone knows the reason why Type 2s don't have a target range but Type 1s do.

I think it was put to 5mmol to 8mmol shortly after I had dka - before this it was 5mmol to 10mmol. @pm133 what's your midpoint number?

I'm T2 on insulin and my target range is 3.9 to 10. I usually run between 90% and 95% TIR.
