So back in April when I spoke to my consultant about how hard I was finding managing my diabetes, we agreed I move from levemir to Tresiba so I didn't have to remember to take my evening dose of levemir.
However I am still waiting for the prescription despite me chasing it up.
Now I have managed to start getting myself back on track with my levemir so now I'm wondering do I change or not now.
Any thoughts?

There are pros and cons of both.
- Tresiba has a very flat predictable profile and you only need one dose per day. With the very long profile, a change of dose can take 3 or 4 days to take affect.
- Levemir is taken twice a day and provides more flexibility which is great if your needs are different during the day and night or if you have different needs on different days (e.g. different times of the month)

Thank you. My 7 and 9 units of levemir seem to be working. Just don't want to change it if it means more effort lol

Personally I would fight tooth and nail to keep Levemir rather than switch to Tresiba. If you have got to grips with your Levemir and adjusting the doses as needed, then stick with it as it offers so much more flexibility and potentially better control as a result.

So easy to change doses of Levemir - you won't get that with any other currently available basal insulin - whatever it's called. Definitely not with Tresiba.
