I apologise if I've asked this before but.....
For finger pickers - how often do you test?

I test
- on waking
- before meals
- 2 hours after a meal
- bedtime
I don't know wether to stop doing the 2 hour test

How many tests are you doing daily. You don't always have to test 2 hours after eating but it's good to see what is going on after certain foods. Have you got the freestyle libre on prescription?

I've got the freestyle libre 2 but sadly I'm not using it at the moment. I was using it alongside my finger pricking so whenever I did a finger prick I also did a scan or the other way round but using the 2 ie finger pricking and the libre was getting to me seeing 2 different results.

I'm thinking of either stopping doing the 2 hour after meal test or at least not do it as often

Hi. I would start using the Libre 2 and only use the finger-prick to x-check for driving if the Libre shows low. The finger prick will always be a bit more accurate but the graphs etc with the Libre 2 are far more useful for BS control than finger-pricks.

Libre is good once you have confidence in it. Libre 2 is far better than libre 1 for accuracy.

I finger prick before I drive in the morning to see if the 2 readings are close - they’re usually a little bit out due to how the measure the reading blood v fluid then only if I feel different to what the libre says. If it’s a little out in the morning I take that into account. You really have to use it for 4-6 weeks to realise how it works and gain confidence in it. There’s a lot of us use it on the forum and I think we’re all more confident with the readings from it than we were maybe 12 months ago when they weren’t as accurate.
Stick with it.
